1 When this happens, seven women will grab the same man, and each of them will say, “I'll buy my own food and clothes! Just marry me and take away my disgrace.”
The Lord Will Bless His People Who Survive
2 The time is coming when the Lord will make his land fruitful and glorious again, and the people of Israel who survive will take great pride in what the land produces.
3 Everyone who is left alive in Jerusalem will be called special,
4 after the Lord sends a fiery judgment to clean the city and its people of their violent deeds.
5 Then the Lord will cover the whole city and its meeting places with a thick cloud each day and with a flaming fire each night. God's own glory will be like a huge tent that covers everything.
6 It will provide shade from the heat of the sun and a place of shelter and protection from storms and rain.

The day of judgment — And in that day
The shortage of men — seven women shall take hold of one man
Providing for themselves — We will eat our own bread
Taking away the shame — only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach
The promised branch — the branch of the LORD
Glory revealed — be beautiful and glorious
A fruitful land — the fruit of the earth
The rescued remnant — for them that are escaped of Israel
A consecrated people — shall be called holy
The book of life — every one that is written
Destined to live — among the living
The cleansing of Zion — washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion
Wiping away shed blood — shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof
The fire that judges — by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning
Zion and her assemblies — upon her assemblies
The glory of the LORD — for upon all the glory
God shelters his people — shall be a defence
In God's shade — a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat
Sheltered from the storm — for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain

take away my disgrace: If a woman did not have a husband or children, it was thought that God was punishing her.
